Cartier’s “Time Unlimited” traveling pop up celebrates a century of innovation, artistry and watch-making heritage. The multi-room immersive walk-through takes visitors through a vibrant experience of color and shape.
Leading and working closely a team of 3D and 2D animators at DE-YAN studio, we focused on the multi-screen presentations featured in the grand finale space of this experience. Custom screens featured Cartier’s iconic watch shapes, as well as treasures from the Cartier Collection. The end result was an innovative time tunnel detailing Cartier’s dedication to the beauty and art of watch-making.
The tunnel presented multiple design challenges. How do we best tell the story of “the art of watchmaking”, while maintaining a dynamic experience for the viewers as they walk through the space? We honed in on the idea of separating the watch mechanism into its simplest forms; admiring the beauty, craftsmanship and texture, then reassembling once again.
To do this, we designed the final composition with the individual screens in mind, while maintaining the dimensional effect of the tunnel. How it would feel, how it would move, down to the very last detail.
